Ray has swum his way to the eve of the Olympic trials. If he makes the team, he’ll get a deal with Speedo. If he gets a deal with Speedo, he’ll never need a real job. So when someone’s stash of performance-enhancing drugs is found in the locker room fridge, threatening the entire team’s Olympic fate, Ray has to crush the rumors or risk losing everything.
Red Speedo is a sharp and stylish play about swimming, survival of the fittest, and the American dream of a level playing field – or of leveling the field yourself – by Lucas Hnath, the author of Walking Shadow’s hit 2016 show The Christians.

Ticket Prices and Seating
All tickets are pick-your-price: $15 – $50. The actual value of a ticket is $45, and patrons can choose to pay that amount, or less, or more.
RED SPEEDO is staged at an actual swimming pool. Seating is on benches. Choose from Main Floor Seating (benches to which we’ve added a portable stadium seat with cushion and back) and Upper Level Seating (wooden benches with no back). Within each section, seating is general admission.

The Bush Student Center Swimming Pool is located on the campus of Hamline University, just off Snelling Avenue in St Paul. (Near Sundin Music Hall.) The entrance to the pool is on a pedestrian mall just off Hewitt Ave.
Free parking is available in Parking Lot B, one block east. Additional free parking is available on Hewitt Ave to the east.
Metro Transit bus routes run within a couple blocks of the venue.

This is a site-specific production at an actual 6-lane pool. There will be a life guard on duty during the show, and audiences are encouraged to be mindful of pool safety when moving to and from your seats.
The audience is not expected to enter the pool at any point.
