Mr Marmalade by Noah Haidle | Production History | Walking Shadow Theatre Company

Mr. Marmalade

written by Noah Haidle
directed by Brian Balcom
November 23 – December 8, 2007
Red Eye Theater

Four-year-old Lucy wants to have tea with her imaginary friend, but Mr. Marmalade is too busy at the office… and with darker pastimes. Enter five-year-old Larry, the youngest suicide attempt in the history of New Jersey, plus the babysitter, a talking cactus, and Mr. Marmalade’s personal assistant, a much put-upon man who can sing like an angel. A sly, darkly comic look at the power of imagination.

Reviews

Twin Cities Daily Planet – Top Ten of 2007

“I’m sorry, Fat Man, but I cannot tell a lie—this was the show I laughed hardest at all year. Led by pitch-perfect Jaime Kleiman, the cast gave itself with complete abandon to the lunatic invention of playwright Noah Haidle.”

-Jay Gabler, Twin Cities Daily Planet
