Land Acknowledgment
We acknowledge the land on which Reboot is performed. Land is part of who we are, and we acknowledge the land itself out of respect. We also recognize the Indigenous people – past, present and future – who are the traditional stewards of this land.
This land, Mni Sota Makoce, is the traditional homeland of the Dakota people, who have lived here for many thousands of years. We are located very close to Bdote, “where two waters come together.” Where Ȟaȟáwakpa (The Mississippi River) and Mnísota Wakpá (The Minnesota River) come together is a Dakota site of creation, and an important historical gathering place.
The Ojibwe people have also lived on this land for many hundreds of years, after a migration that lasted many more centuries and led the Ojibwe people to the prophesized “land where food grows on water.”

A Note from Agent Halo
“Agents, during our mission I was able to download a file off of the GOL3M VIII hard drive. It was apparently created by GOL3M himself in January 1987, shortly before he was deactivated. It appears to be a text adventure, in the style of many computer games of the time. This must have been GOL3M’s attempt at creativity, probably based on what Beth Barton had taught him about entertainment of the era. I wonder if it will shed more light on what GOL3M was going through during that period.”
Golem: A Text Adventure
The rampaging Golem of Praha has been subdued, but the alchemist who created it has disappeared. In a clearing in the forest, in a country of old magic, you are about to encounter the truth. Be prepared, for the alchemy you experience will extend to language itself.
You can play this FREE text adventure in two ways:
- Download the file from Walking Shadow’s Google Drive https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1MuR42a4YdUdXxdhZQKJ3Fr5lFxBiZoXH
This file has extension type .quest, and to play it you’ll also need to download the free app from http://textadventures.co.uk/quest
NOTE: This game file only works on the Windows operating system.
- Or, play the game online at http://textadventures.co.uk/games/view/kekhg10rru6_febght5wnq/golem
You may experience timeout delays (if the game thinks you’re pausing too long between actions, it might get confused and freeze). Unfortunately, we don’t control the performance of the Quest website, so we encourage those who can to use the downloadable version above.
